Although I have been told that there are differences in the basic personalities of the Noble and the Hahn’s Mini Macaws, I am not familiar with these distinctions. The first one I met was a Noble macaw who lived in the San Francisco SPCA when I taught monthly classes there. They called her Joplin because of her noise level. She was a sweet bird who went to live with a woman who worked there. I have known both Hahn's and Noble's and find them both to be very similar in personality and attitude to many of the conures. Speaking of attitude, many of these little macaws can be pretty bossy around their caregivers and other parrots, but it is usually a playful bossiness! They can be loud but a patient caregiver can work with their noise level. Although they are not famous for their talking ability, individuals often say several words clearly. These most mini of the mini-macaws can be real “good time rock and roll” birds with a raucous, energetic, expressive, and somewhat bossy attitude. They usually like to accompany their human flock on new adventures. Like most macaws, both the Hahns and the Noble can be incredibly gentle when everyone settles down for a good head skritch.
