» Has a particularly round bulbous beak
» Smaller than the other black cockatoos at about 19"
» Also called the Casaurina Black Cockatoo because they eat the Casaurina nut as the major part of their diet
» Sexually dimorphic: hens have striping on red part of tail
» Range is far eastern Australia 
» CITES II Considered stable in much of its range but populations are decreasing in some areas. 
» The genus Calyptorynchus means hidden or veiled beak.
